It’s such a scary time for so many of us, isn’t it?

But it doesn’t have to be……most churches have access to trained, christian counsellors who are able to help each of us work through our anxieties with job losses, the loss of our homes, to help us sort and sift through the new options on the horizon awaiting us…..don’t despair….Gosh, if I told my story of survival you’d be simply amazed….numerous job losses, a divorce after a long term marriage, my children so hurt they didn’t want anything to do with me for 10 years, financial struggling, moving to new apartments that I had to really hunt to find and afford, giving up all my treasures to move 1400 miles to a new state, where I am now….to begin again and all after I was 50!

 The Lord walked with me, carried me, and we chatted and developed a very personal relationship, not inside the walls of a particular church, but as friends, lovers, father, teacher, protector and guide…..I had NO ONE ELSE for those 10 years….no one.

But after walking through the storms, there is really no way out but through, clutching my faith and love in the Lord…..I once again landed on my feet…..I had no one, perhaps like you,and struggled to find sources and support, this  blog was created by the idea He gave me over 15 years ago, before blogs were even thought of.  He sent people who could help me, even at that time, there was NO GOVERNMENT AID AVAILABLE FOR ME. But I had to be the one to seek help, to reach out, to give it a try.

If you too are overwhelmed with grief, with fear, with sadness, with too many choices and a foggy road ahead….please give yourself a gift…..a gift of contacting a local church to find the affordable counselling offered in our community, most will do a “sliding scale”…..go the the FREE CLINIC near Clearwater in Pinellas County or the FREE clinic in Hillsborough, have your body checked to be sure there is no illness causing your depression and anxiety and they can help eliminate the symptoms with medications to help you cope as well, pick up a bible and read a passage or two daily, take a notebook and venture to a quiet favorite spot in nature and let your pen do the writing, don’t think about it, just let it flow…..let tears wash over you, let those scary emotions come to the surface and out of you….it’s your private writings, no one else will read them and you won’t believe what a change it will make…..I used to address my stuff written to God…..”Dear God”…..

Amazing! Visit a library or thrift store that has used books and select a title or two of ones in the self help dept……you’ll be enthralled that others also have experienced the same things and written suggested ideas of coping.

Faith the size of one tiny seed is all it takes....just one!

“This too will pass”……”have faith the size of a mustard seed“,,,,,,,breathe and ask the Creator of this vast, gorgeous universe to walk with you, to help you, to do His “God thing” then watch what happens……miracles are all about us, it just takes a pinch of faith to see them…..people will cross your path unexpectedly to give you support, to share the love in their hearts….and to give you a boost to your faith that all will be better….try it….then send your experience to me,marty_hermes@yahoo.com and I will post it anonymously for others to be encouraged and inspired…..

The best feeling is being able to help another!

Take a deep breath…..and get a going…..the past is history, the future not yet known, all we have is today….and that’s why it’s called “the present”…..unwrap it!

The Lightbulb finally has come on....

I have returned to blogging….finally and have many areas I am sure that need updating in the past year since I have not had access to my creative muse in WordPress.

If any of you have info for providing financial assistance to elderly who need hearing aids, please contact me. Or if you have new aides that someone no longer uses and want to help me find an avenue for cleaning and refurbishing I want to know that too!

Most of our senior population have hearing that may be impaired and any help we can provide would be gratefully appreciated as most of them are on limited incomes…..so give me a foot up with where to go and who to contact to help these super folks. Sight and sound go hand in hand to give more mature adults a better quality of life.

Wanna help them to not only see and smell the roses but to also hear the melody of the birds and the whispers of the wind?
